Mellé: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Mellé has carried the “Commune du Patrimoine Rural de Bretagne” label since 1996 and combines this rural heritage with informative trails, exhibitions, and guided tours. Mellé’s architectural heritage includes the Church of Saint Martin. It features construction phases dating from the 15th to the 18th century and has stained-glass windows made during the Second World War.

Culture and Heritage

Melléco is a museum exhibition area dedicated to rural heritage and sustainable development. Melléco offers educational and outreach programs on built and natural heritage for school groups and the general public. The “Parcours des énergies” is an educational trail interpreting built and landscape heritage, renewable energies, and ecological housing. Mellé’s attractions also include a walled parish enclosure.

Trails and Landscape

The “Pierres & Nature” hiking trail is 9 kilometers long and leads through the Breton bocage landscape. Along the trail, information panels explain Mellé’s landscape heritage. The “Pierres & Nature” trail starts in front of the Church of Saint Martin.

Mellé’s elevated location offers hikers views of the surrounding area. On the walk through the village, walkers pass by the Roche au Diable.

Walking Tours

The “Bourg-jardin” showcases various floral displays in the center of Mellé. Pedestrian paths lead to these floral displays, the walled parish enclosure, and a new flower park. The “Bourg-jardin” circular route is 1 kilometer long and takes 45 minutes.
