Médréac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The megalithic ensemble of Lampouy is part of Médréac’s cultural heritage. It comprises several remarkable rows of menhirs and two freestanding menhirs and is listed in the inventory of historic monuments.

Culture and History

The present-day parish church of Saint-Pierre was built between 1911 and 1915 to plans by the architect Arthur Regnault. The late Gothic building displays the architectural language typical of Arthur Regnault; its spire is inspired by Breton church towers, while local granite gives the church a distinctly regional character.

The Médréac Railway Museum presents historic railway technologies and the history of Médréac railway station in an interactive area.

Nature

The Espace Naturel Sensible du Bois Gesbert safeguards the ecological continuity of the Quéhugan stream and is open to the public. Bois Gesbert is a restored wetland with ponds, wet meadows, woodland, bocage landscape and adjoining agricultural land.

Bois Gesbert has a car park and an easy walking trail of less than 1 km.

Things to Do

The Gare vélo-rail de Médréac offers a one-hour, 7 km route towards Plouasne. The vélo-rail experience at the Gare vélo-rail also includes a stop at the foot of the 15th-century Chapelle de Lannelou.

The Circuit de la vallée du Néal trail no. 176 follows the valley and the Néal River and leads to around fifty megaliths in the countryside. At its stops, the Sentier du Douet trail no. 178 provides historical stories and information via panels and QR codes.

Food and Drink

The Café de la gare serves handmade biscuits as well as hot and refreshing drinks on site.
