Feins: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

At Étang du Boulet, nature observation, water sports and cultural history come together. Étang du Boulet is located in Feins and covers 150 hectares. At the same time, it plays a major role in regulating the water levels of the Canal d’Ille-et-Rance.

Nature

Étang du Boulet belongs to the ZNIEFF and Natura 2000 networks and is home to a distinctive flora and fauna, including rare and protected species. The discovery trail at Étang du Boulet uses information boards to explain the ecological importance of the area as well as its cultural and historical uses. The educational trail is 1.5 km long.

The Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux (LPO) organises birdwatching excursions at Domaine de Boulet. Another way to explore the surroundings on foot is the easy family loop around Étang du Boulet: it is 6.2 km long and takes about two hours.

Water

The water sports centre at Domaine de Boulet offers private lessons as well as beginner and advanced water sports courses. It also rents out kayaks, pedal boats, dinghies and windsurfing boards without supervision.

The beach at Étang du Boulet offers a swimming area for the whole family in summer. The facilities available there therefore range from supervised courses and the hire of various watercraft to seasonal swimming.

Culture

In Feins, the Church of Saint-Martin-de-Tours dates from the 16th century and was remodelled in 1773. Its floor plan is shaped like a Latin cross; the complex also includes a façade tower and a flat-ended chancel.

Manoir de Maffay is the only manor house in Feins with a grand entrance gate. Étang du Boulet and Rigole de Boulet are also part of the cultural heritage of the hydraulic infrastructure supplying the Canal d’Ille-et-Rance.

The Abbaye Notre-Dame-du-Nid-au-Merle is located in the area around Feins. The Musée des Beaux-Arts lies in the wider region surrounding Feins. The historical site of Abbaye Notre-Dame de la Vieuville and the historical site of Abbaye Notre-Dame-en-Saint-Melaine are also located in this wider regional area.
