Trézien reveals its special character through the interplay of pilgrimage, church art and coastal paths. The Pardon de Trézien takes place in September and is considered one of the most important pardons in Bas-Léon.
Culture and pilgrimage
In September, the Fontaine de Trézien is considered an important pilgrimage site and forms a rectangular basin south of the church. The portal of the Eglise de Trezien bears the motto of the Du Chastel family: “Da vad et teui”.
The present-day Église Notre-Dame de Trézien dates from 1876 and replaced a chapel from the 16th century that had become too small. Its interior is designed in the Neo-Gothic style. The choir windows depict prayers for protection for human activities connected with the sea, the home and the land.
Paths at Pointe de Corsen
In the vicinity of Trézien, Pointe de Corsen has an interpretation trail. The Circuit rando n°20 – La Pointe de Corsen hiking trail is an easy circular route covering 8.9 kilometres and taking around three hours. The section to the Eglise de Trezien starts at the Fontaine de Trezien; sections of the route are marked in yellow or white and red.
Sea and lighthouse
The municipality of Plouarzel has beaches suitable for surfing, bodyboarding and sailing. The Phare de Trézien was inaugurated in 1894. It is 37.20 metres high and has a range of 23 nautical miles, or around 40 kilometres.
Cycle path
The An Avel cycle path is signposted in both directions with cycle-path signs.
