Langolen: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Langolen features a rural landscape with agriculturally used plateaus and slopes, valleys, and a still clearly visible bocage network. Between these landscape areas, marked paths connect historical sites with an estate that extends across several municipalities.

Landscape and Trails

The “Les chemins creux de Langolen” circular trail is located at the foothills of the Montagnes Noires. It starts at Langolen Town Hall, 3 Place Marie Littre, and is signposted with yellow hiking trail markers. The municipal hiking trails pass by the Calvaire de Saint Huel.

The marked “La montagne” circular trail is 12 km long. The GR38 long-distance hiking trail also runs from Langolen to Locronan. For cycling, the marked “Vallée de l’Odet” mountain-bike trail network includes a circular route starting in Langolen.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint-Gunthiern preserves a south portal from the 15th century, as well as a west façade and a bell tower from the 16th century. It was reconstructed in 1844; its bell tower, which had been damaged by a lightning strike, was rebuilt in 1864.

The calvary in the parish district of Langolen dates from the 15th century. Reliefs at its base depict the Flagellation, the Crowning with Thorns, and the Carrying of the Cross.

The Château de Trohanet, whose estate extends across Langolen, Briec, and Landudal, was built in the 15th century; its façade was renovated in the 18th century. In summer, it is open to the public by prior arrangement and on the occasion of the European Heritage Days.
