Plonéis: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Plonéis has a particularly varied topography with numerous viewpoints, sunken lanes and attractive landscape areas. Between easy circular trails, forests and wetlands, as well as historic buildings, a diverse picture of the town and its surroundings emerges.

Nature and trails

The “Au fil du Goyen” hiking trail is 10 km long, easy, and signposted with yellow marker number 1. Shorter trails complement the selection: the “Parcours de santé pour petits et grands” circular trail is 2.7 km long, easy, and starts at the town hall. The “de Ker en Ker” circular trail is also 2.7 km long and easy, leading along small paths within the municipality of Plonéis. The “Vers le Belvédère” circular trail is longer at 6.2 km and designed for more active hikers; it passes through forests and wetlands and offers panoramic views of the landscape.

History and architectural heritage

The Manoir de Kerven has an oldest section dating from the 13th century, was extensively remodelled in the first half of the 17th century, and features a Gothic portal from the mid-16th century. The Château du Marc’hallac’h lies 1 km south of the town centre beyond the Goyen; the present large residence was built in 1888.

Religious buildings also tell of different periods. The Notre-Dame de La Boissière Chapel has construction phases dating from 1697, 1728 and 1738. The Church of Saint-Gilles bears witness to the distinctive character of Breton Gothic art and was originally dedicated to Saint Néis, the founder of the first Christian community. The Sainte-Anne Prat-Ar-Raz Chapel lies along the Quimper–Douarnenez road corridor, around 1 km from the western end of Quimper’s northern boulevard and 3 km from the centre of Plonéis, in the hamlet of Prat-ar-Raz.

Surroundings

In the surroundings of Plonéis are the Musée des Beaux-Arts museum and the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Kerlot historical site, located in Quimper. Plage du Ris is a beach in the surroundings of Plonéis.
