Gouesnach: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Gouesnach showcases its history at carefully preserved sites and connects it with paths through parkland and plant landscapes. At the center is the Chapelle Saint-Cadou, together with its oratory, calvary and fountain.

Culture and History

The Chapelle Saint-Cadou is a granite building dating from the end of the 15th century, with a slate roof. Its grounds include a 16th-century oratory, a calvary and a 15th-century fountain. The Chapelle Saint-Cadou, as well as the nearby oratory, calvary and fountain, are protected as historic monuments.

The Église Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul also preserves notable historic details: its portal dates from the 17th century. Inside, a Gallo-Roman pagan altar has been repurposed as a holy-water font. The Pardon de Saint-Cadou is celebrated every summer on the first Sunday in August.

Nature and Plants

The Domaine de Boutiguéry is a park covering more than 20 hectares above the Odet, with more than 40,000 rhododendron and azalea plants. The Domaine de Boutiguéry offers guided tours for groups of 20 or more. Various workshops are offered there exclusively by reservation.

Numerous plant species are listed along the botanical educational trail at Pors-Garo.

Paths through Gouesnach

The Pors Meillou walking trail leads to the Notre-Dame du Vray Secours chapel and continues to the Pors Meillou landing stage. The Autour du bourg circular trail begins in the car park behind Gouesnach Town Hall. In addition, the Circuit N°1 Tour de la Commune forms an approximately 20-kilometre loop for exploring the municipality of Gouesnach.
