Trégourez combines a distinctive bocage cultural landscape with ecclesiastical heritage, river areas and festive traditions.

Culture and history

The history of the village can be seen in several tangible landmarks: the Church of Saint-Idunet dates largely from the second half of the 16th century. A statue of Saint Idunet is dated 1562. The chapel of Ponthouard was initially dedicated to Saint Guézennec and has been dedicated to Notre-Dame de Ponthouard since the 17th century.

Traditions

The Foire Expo de Trégourez is also part of the village’s history. It was founded in 1960 by Yann Moulin and Jean Bourhis. The historic Foire Expo lasted 40 years; during its three-day event held around Palm Sunday, it attracted more than 100,000 visitors. Ti Kozh was an emblematic venue at the event, reserved for local drinks such as apple juice, cider and chouchen.

Two other dates are associated with local festival traditions: the Pardon de Saint Idunet takes place on the third Sunday in October, while the Pardon de Ponthouard is held on the first Sunday in August.

Landscape

The Odet forms a natural boundary between Trégourez and Coray. The Guip is a tributary of the Odet, and other rivers cross Trégourez. The landscape also includes a distinctive bocage cultural landscape. Agriculture in Trégourez is active and focused on livestock farming.

Nature

The “Parcours de l'Odet et du Guip” fishing course is predominantly characterised by meadows and is considered easily accessible. At the same time, it offers several different river environments.
