Henvic offers a range of attractions, from churches and chapels to paths steeped in maritime history, as well as the small harbour and the Arboretum de Jean Merret.

Culture and history

Sacred architecture includes the Église Saint-Maudez, which is partially protected as a historic monument. The former Église Saint-Maudez comprises a 16th-century bell tower, a very large porch on the west side and a small 17th-century chapel; together, these elements form a rural architectural ensemble. The old church, La vieille église, dates from the late 16th and early 17th centuries.

The present-day sacred architecture includes the Église paroissiale Saint-Maudez et Sainte-Juvette, built in 1902 according to plans by the architect Serrurier from Morlaix. The Chapelle Sainte-Marguerite dates from the 15th and 16th centuries. The current structure of the Manoir de Trogriffon dates from the 16th and 17th centuries.

In the past, the bell tower of La vieille église served as a navigational landmark for ships entering the Bay of Morlaix. The restored La vieille église opens its doors to the public for various events, such as exhibitions, conferences and concerts.

Paths and nature

The Circuit de Lézireur is an easy 7 km circular route that begins at the square by the old church. The Hent Don is an educational trail between Keracoual Bihan and the Anse de Sainte-Marguerite; information boards explain the hard work of the Henvic farmers who collected seaweed at sea to enrich their soil.

The Boucle du Vanneg forms part of the GR 34, the GRP (Grand Tour du Pays de Morlaix) and the historic Tro Breizh route. In Keracoual, you can visit the Arboretum de Jean Merret, which presents more than 4,000 species.

The grounds of the Manoir de Trogriffon include a large pond where fresh and seawater mix. The small harbour of Henvic has a quay, a slipway and moorings for a few fishing boats and numerous pleasure craft.

Pilgrimage tradition

The Pardon de la chapelle Sainte-Marguerite on 15 August includes a Mass for the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, a procession and a blessing of the sea.
