La Forêt-Fouesnant: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The coast gives La Forêt-Fouesnant its distinctive character: the Anse Saint-Laurent has small, quiet beaches that can be reached on foot via the GR34 coastal path. Plage de Kerleven is La Forêt-Fouesnant’s main beach – more than a kilometre long, with fine sand and largely sheltered from the wind; it is ideal for swimming and relaxing.

Coast and Walking Trails

Various water sports can be enjoyed at Plage de Kerleven, including aquawalking, rides on a towed buoy, kitesurfing, stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. The “Autour de l’anse Saint-Laurent” walking route begins near Plage de Kerleven and quickly leads into the surrounding countryside.

The “d’un port à l’autre” walking route is 2.2 kilometres long. The “Autour des 2 anses” walking route is 6.4 kilometres long.

Harbour, Bay and Golf

Port-La-Forêt is a marina in the Bay of La Forêt-Fouesnant, opposite the Glénan archipelago. Excursions to the Glénan archipelago depart from Port-La-Forêt.

The Golf de Cornouaille on the edge of the Bay of La Forêt-Fouesnant has an 18-hole course with a par of 71 and a length of 5,688 metres. Holes 9, 10 and 16 offer views of the Glénan archipelago. Golf de Cornouaille is open year-round; its competitions are also open to external players.

The Manoir de Mesmeur is an 18th-century building that houses the golf club’s headquarters as well as a restaurant with a bar.

Culture and History

The Église Notre-Dame Izel Vor was built largely during the first half of the 16th century. Inside are 16th-century baptismal fonts, a depiction of the Rosary and a baldachin altarpiece on the high altar. The Église Notre-Dame d'Izel Vor is classified as a historic monument; its protected status has been in place since 8 June 1914.

Le Cairn de Kerleven is a visible megalithic structure protected by a fence, classified as a historic monument and dating from approximately 3000 BC. The site is located on the grounds of the Domaine du Saint-Laurent campsite; access must be requested at reception. Archaeological investigations at Le Cairn de Kerleven revealed three burials, each with an access passage; two of the graves are still visible.

La Chapelle de Peniti is an 18th-century chapel with 14 frescoes depicting three Rosaries; it is privately owned and closed to the public. Every summer, the Nuits Celtiques de Peniti take place at the Théâtre de Verdure de Peniti, featuring Celtic dance circles, bagadoù and traditional music groups.

The Vieux Port, formerly known as Port “Stang Al Lestreg”, was a centre of commercial exchange. From 1850 onwards, quays and two slipways were built there.
