Trébabu: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Trébabu stands Kerjan-Mol, a tidal mill. The village combines this milling history with trails, chapels, manor-house architecture, and views over the Ria du Conquet.

Trails and Landscape

Several hiking trails and sections suitable for soft mobility make it possible to discover the Church of Saint-Tugdual and the Notre-Dame du Val Chapel on foot or by bicycle. The rectangular chapel stands on the slope of the Kerléo valley; its portal is made of Kersanton stone, and its bell gable has two arches.

From Le Conquet, it can be reached via the D67 towards Saint-Renan: 1 km after the junction, turn left towards Trébabu, pass through the village, continue along the road, and turn left again. Parking is available at the foot of the incline.

From Trébabu, the circular trail leads to the GR34, which runs along part of the extensive Plage des Blancs Sablons. The Pays d'Iroise Greeters also offer the guided tour “Trébabu, between the pond and the châteaux,” with registration available. This Greeter walk follows paths and sunken lanes through Trébabu and includes a viewpoint over the Ria du Conquet.

Culture and History

The Château de Kermorvan-Névé includes a park, a chapel, and farm buildings. The château was probably built in the third quarter of the 19th century; it may have been created by converting an older building. Its rectangular central block lies between two corner towers, while the regularly arranged façade has five bays.

The cemetery beside this church contains older graves of noble families with carved coats of arms. The “Virgin with the Fig” in the chapel was stolen in 1977 and returned 28 years later.

At the former site of this mill, the heavily remodeled former miller's house and sluice gates in the dam can apparently be seen. The former mill is said to have been destroyed by German troops in 1944.
