Commana: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The parish enclosure of Commana comprises the church, the ossuary, the cemetery enclosure, the calvary and the monumental arch. These components have been protected as historic monuments since 17 July 1915; the bell tower of the parish enclosure of Commana is 57 metres high.

Culture and History

The covered alley of Mougau in Mougau Bihan was built between 3000 and 2000 BC. The 14-metre-long collective burial site has five capstones and engraved ornaments on the inner pillars. The covered alley of Mougau Bihan is considered an important testament to the Breton Neolithic period due to its unique ornamentation.

The Kanndi of Rozonoual is a restored washhouse that was formerly used to bleach bundles of flax.

Nature and Trails

The Mougau peat bog in Commana is a protected natural area in the catchment area of a ridgeline in the Monts d’Arrée. It is open to the public and includes a 2-kilometre-long discovery and interpretation trail. The interpretation area of the Mougau peat bog includes 12 panels on fauna, flora, peat bogs, landscape and archaeology.

The Korrigans Trail is a 2-kilometre-long interpretation trail that is accessible to everyone and open from May to October. It leads through the increasingly rare Mougau wetland and allows visitors to experience its distinctive flora, including the protected Portuguese butterwort and sundew.

The Blue Stone Trail is a 6.5-kilometre hike of around two hours, which also offers the opportunity to discover the Mougau peat bog and the Montagne du Mougau. The GR 380 is an approximately 230-kilometre loop around the Monts d’Arrée, passes through Commana and runs through the Armorique Regional Natural Park.

By the Water

Lac du Drennec lies within the territory of the municipalities of Sizun and Commana; a footpath just under 7 kilometres long leads around the lake. Lac du Drennec has two artificially created sandy beaches. Stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, windsurfing and boating are possible on the lake.
