In the Bois de Rosgrand, a network of paths leads to the banks of the Ellé. The climbing rock overlooks the Ellé valley and offers a viewpoint.

Nature

The long-distance hiking trail GR34 runs through the Rosgrand area. The Balade entre Scaff et Scao is 7.7 kilometres long and is a hiking and mountain-biking circular route around the town centre. Its starting point can be reached from the town centre by driving towards Grenouillère as far as the sports hall.

In the Rosbigot valley, the Balade entre Scaff et Scao runs for 2 kilometres along the Scaff. It crosses the Scao on a wooden footbridge and leads into the Morbihan département. It also leads to a beech tree approximately 300 years old.

The Sentier de la Grenouillère à Kervegant is 1 kilometre long. It runs past a small woodland and along the Pont Saint Pierre watercourse, a tributary of the Scave that separates Rédéné and Arzano. The Bois de Rosgrand is home to a diverse range of fauna and flora.

Culture and history

The Église Saint-Pierre-et-Notre-Dame-de-Lorette is a 16th-century church. It was built in 1904–1905 according to plans by the architect Chaussepied. Its bell tower was completed in 1901 and is the work of J.-M. Abgrall. The axial window contains the “Pèlerins d’Emmaüs” stained-glass window, created by the Laumônier workshop in 1905.

The Chapelle Sainte-Marguerite has a tracery window in the choir apse in the shape of a fleur-de-lis. The stained-glass window depicting Saint Margaret was made in 1963 by the H. de Sainte-Marie workshop. The chapel was probably built at the beginning of the 16th century by the Caric family, the lords of the neighbouring Porh Cadic manor house. The spring associated with it has a gable topped by a cross.

After suffering severe damage during the siege of Lorient, the Chapelle Sainte-Marguerite was rebuilt during the liberation in 1955. The inventory of the Chapelle de Rosgrand was classified as a historic monument by Decree No. 37 of the Minister of Culture and Communication dated 28 October 2014. The Fontaine Notre-Dame de Lorette devotional spring, dedicated to Notre-Dame de Lorette, is located 500 metres from the Église Saint-Pierre-et-Notre-Dame-de-Lorette.
