La Forest-Landerneau: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Two marked circular routes start in the centre of La Forest-Landerneau. The yellow-marked hiking trail Circuit de 12 km starts at Place Aimée de Guesnet in front of the church and is 12.4 km long. During a spring tide on the banks of the Élorn, this circuit cannot be walked. The blue-marked Circuit des lavoirs also starts at Place Aimée de Guesnet in front of the church; it is 8.7 km long.

Culture

The Château fort de Joyeuse Garde has been classified as a historic monument since 1975. Its main construction period is dated to the second half of the 13th century and the first quarter of the 14th century. The Château fort de Joyeuse Garde towered over the mouth of the Élorn, an important shipping route downstream from Landerneau.

The parish church of Saint-Thénéan was built between 1886 and 1887 according to plans by the architect Ernest Le Guerrannic, by the contractor Michel Ménez. The Neo-Romanesque building stands in an enclosed churchyard and has an elongated floor plan with three naves and a semicircular apse.

The Chapelle Sainte-Anne was rebuilt in 1831; the date is recorded on the lintel. The Neo-Gothic chapel is located in an enclosed area and has a rectangular floor plan with a single nave, a flat-ended chancel and a niche. Some washhouses in La Forest-Landerneau have survived.

Getting there

La Forest-Landerneau is located on the Brest–Paris SNCF railway line. A TER stop makes it possible to travel from La Forest-Landerneau to Landerneau or Brest in just a few minutes.
