Nature and Coast

Roscoff’s Exotic Garden is classified as a «Jardin Remarquable» by the French Ministry of Culture and serves as a botanical conservatory for various species. A 18-metre-high granite rock in the garden offers panoramic views over the Bay of Morlaix.

The GR34 long-distance hiking trail makes it easy to explore the coast around Roscoff. Roscoff is also the starting point of the Vélodyssée (EV 1), which leads as far as Hendaye in the Basque Country.

Getting Around

At Roscoff’s Old Port, passengers board boats to Île de Batz. Rosko Rando is an association for people who enjoy walking, hiking and discovering cultural heritage.

Culture

The Sainte-Barbe Chapel was built in 1619 on the rocky headland of Bloscon and bears witness to Breton religious art. The Church of Notre-Dame de Croas-Batz and its churchyard also bear witness to this Breton religious art.

The Maison des Johnnies uses photographs, videos and modern museum displays to tell its story.

Cuisine

Algoplus offers a guided tour of an artisanal seaweed cannery followed by a tasting of seaweed products. Roscoff onions received the AOC designation (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) in 2009 and the AOP designation (Appellation d’Origine Protégée) in 2013. The Kerav'ale craft brewery offers tours of its brewery.
