Guimaëc: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Guimaëc, the Chapelle Notre-Dame-des-Joies dates from the 15th and 16th centuries. Its interior features painted panelling and paintings around the choir window. As a historic monument, the chapel has been classified since 17 March 1916.

Culture

The Chapelle du Christ has been listed as a historic monument since 3 June 1932. The Dolmen dit Lit de Saint-Jean is located in Guimaëc on the Route de Fry, in the Kerouregan Gouele Sant Yann area. It has been classified as a historic monument since 25 July 1930 and is located approximately 400 m from the Chapelle du Christ.

The Église Saint-Pierre is a rural church dating from the 17th century with a remarkable bell tower. The bell tower has been classified as a historic monument since 17 March 1916.

The Musée Rural de Guimaëc presents more than 2,500 objects illustrating rural life in the first half of the 20th century. It comprises ten exhibition rooms and is located in a former vegetable-packing facility known in Breton as Ar Vagajenn. Tours are led by knowledgeable enthusiasts who share their memories and knowledge with visitors. In July and August, the museum offers demonstrations of butter-making in a butter churn on Wednesdays, as well as crêpes to sample.

Nature

Beg An Fry is a 34.28-hectare protected coastal area in Guimaëc. The trail between Poul Rodou and Velin Izella is 2 km long and generally presents no particular difficulties, although it includes some muddy sections after rain. It runs along the coast through meadows, undergrowth and heathland, offering views of Poul Rodou, Sainte Rose and Velin Izella beaches.

The circular walk from Beg Ar Fri is 2.5 km long, takes about an hour and includes a somewhat steep descent. It offers views of the Trégor coast as well as a steeply descending view of Velin Izella beach.

The section from Velin Izella to Pointe de Runglaz is 3.5 km long, is designed for sporty hikers and features significant changes in elevation as well as a risk of slipping in wet weather. It runs along the cliffs; the sea lies below, while above is heathland that appears green, reddish-brown or golden depending on the season. The Guimaëc section of the GR 34 is considered particularly natural and well preserved and runs away from a coastal road.
