Ploumoguer: Holiday apartments and houses

Ploumoguer has 7 km of rocky coastline. Porsmoguer-Kerhornou Beach, also known as Kerhornou, is 400 m long and approximately 50 m wide. It consists of sand, is bordered by rocky outcrops and adjoins a large dune area inland. Illien Beach lies within the jurisdiction of the Iroise Marine Nature Park. It is 180 m long and 70 m wide, consists of sand, is bordered by rocky outcrops and overlooks sandy grassland. The upper part of the beach below the car park is bounded by riprap.

Nature

Ploumoguer offers eight unsigned routes for walks and hikes. They extend along the coast of the Iroise Sea, through the town centre and over the hills near Lamber. At the Belvédère de Kéramézec viewpoint, there is an information board, a picnic area and dry toilets. An accessible ramp with a gentle incline leads to the summit. From the Belvédère de Kéramézec, a 10 km hike can begin through a shaded sunken lane and past the large Kerloas menhir.

Culture and history

The Saint-Pierre parish church in Ploumoguer was built between 1844 and 1845. Its bell tower is dated to 1753. The nave has a painted plank ceiling with stars on a blue background. The Notre-Dame-d'Espérance Chapel has been disused since 1973 and now serves as an exhibition hall. The Locméven Chapel was rebuilt in 1812 and restored in 1982.

The Locméven Chapel can be reached from the beach car park via a coastal path leading south after 500 m.
