Ploneour-Lanvern: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Plonéour-Lanvern is located on the Moulin-Neuf reservoir, which covers 65 hectares and extends across the municipalities of Tréméoc and Plonéour-Lanvern. A footpath approximately 7 kilometres long runs around the reservoir; the circular route allows visitors to observe birds and local flora.

Nature

The Sentier du train Carottes is a 6-kilometre educational trail along a former railway line. It explains the history of a freight train that crossed the Pays Bigouden and alternates between wooded paths, country lanes and several sections of asphalt road.

Walking and leisure

The Espace Raphalen comprises a landscape and leisure area covering several hectares, with freely accessible facilities. These include a 340 m² skate bowl, a 300 m² street-skating area and a 210 m² pump track for mountain bikes, BMX bikes, skateboards, scooters and roller skates. The park also has an orienteering course and a fishing trail.

La ferme de Lanvern offers workshops led by activity leaders on farm animals or nature. Depending on the programme, children can take pony-riding lessons, attend courses or go on rides there.

Culture

The Chapelle Notre-Dame de Languivoa was built at the end of the 13th century, remodelled at the end of the 14th century and again in the 17th century, and has three naves and a transept. In 1675, it lost its bell tower after sounding the tocsin during the Bonnets rouges uprising.

The Chapelle Saint-Philibert was built in the 11th century by monks from Landévennec Abbey and has been listed as a Monument historique since 1926. The Church of Saint-Énéour dates in its present form from 1848. The Chapelle de Bonne Nouvelle is a chapel dating from 1876, set in a wooded area.

The megalith known as “le Mât de Saint-Eneour” is located on Place de la République in Plonéour-Lanvern.

Daily life and traditions

Every August, the Fête de la crêpe takes place in Halle Raphalen. A market is held in the town centre every Sunday morning.

At the Galochodrome, visitors can learn to play Galoche or improve their skills. In the Pays Bigouden, Galoche is a local game that has been played for centuries by both farmers and sailors.

Mobility

Plonéour-Lanvern is served by BreizhGo bus routes 954 towards Pont-l’Abbé and 955 towards Quimper. A demand-responsive shared transport service is also available by prior reservation.
