Hiking and Cycling

The Boucle de l’Arc’hantel hiking loop is 13.5 km long, while the Boucle St Dider hiking loop covers 8 km. The Tro-vélo® 7 cycle route follows a former railway line and climbs up to the Butte de Plouider. The Ancienne gare de Plouider is a designated point of interest along this cycle route.

Culture and History

The present-day building of the Chapelle Saint-Fiacre dates from the 16th century. Its bell tower features the Beaumanoir style, which is characteristic of the Renaissance in Léon. The Chapelle Notre-Dame-des-Malades was built as a neo-Gothic chapel in 1873 following a severe epidemic and is in good condition.

The Église Saint-Didier was rebuilt in 1771, according to tradition, using materials from Kergournadec’h. At the Moulin de Pont du Châtel, the present-day building dates from the 19th century. Attached to it is a mill built at the beginning of the 20th century, which was powered by the flow of a turbine that is still in existence.

Landscaped Features

The Saint-Didier spring rises in a small valley south of the railway station. The structure at Kerbervaz overlooks Goulven Bay to the north and the Quillimadec Valley to the south. A bridge is incomplete today; missing stones make passage impossible.
