Botmeur is located in the Yeun Elez, on the shores of Lake Saint-Michel and within the Armorique Regional Natural Park. The surrounding area includes heathland, marshes and rocky ridges; the houses are built from slate and granite.
Nature
Tuchenn Gador is a highly visible rocky area that dominates the ridge of the Monts d’Arrée. From Tuchenn Gador, there are extensive views over Lake Saint-Michel, the heathland below, the Saint-Michel Chapel and the antenna at Roc’h Tredudon.
The Kalon Menez Are trail passes through sensitive natural areas with remarkable biodiversity; the protected moss Sphaigne de La Pylaie grows in the moors.
Paths and activities
In Botmeur, cyclists, horse riders and hikers use the small paths and numerous signposted circular routes. The circular route is marked with signposts and explanatory panels; a free paper brochure is available at the town hall.
On the return journey, the circular hiking trail “Botmeur: Landes et tourbières walking circuit” passes through the centre of Botmeur and by the Church of Saint-Eutrope and Saint-Isidore.
At ADDES, children aged three and over can take part in “La Ronde des korrigans”, a 2.5 km-long course. ADDES offers narrated and sung walks early in the morning or at night for all age groups and throughout the year.
Culture
Southeast of Salou, the ruins of the Château du Botmeur, an important building, have been preserved.

The Boulangerie du Pain Perché in Botmeur uses local flours and ingredients to make a range of sourdough breads and lichouseries.
