Spézet: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Spézet lies at the foot of the Montagnes Noires. The Kostez ar Menez route offers a direct combination of landscape and activity: it leads up to their ridges, follows the GR 38 A, and offers expansive panoramic views over the bocage landscape of central Finistère.

Landscape and Trails

For mountain bike tours, Spézet offers the challenging 24.5-kilometre Kostez an Dour route. It starts at Spézet’s municipal stadium and runs clockwise towards the Canal de Nantes à Brest.

Culture and History

The Chapelle du Krann, classified as a historic monument, was built in 1535. The menhir rows of Bois du Duc in Hoad ar Dug were classified as historic monuments by decree of 27 December 1923.

The Chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Crann in Spézet has been classified as a historic monument since 31 March 1916. The Église Saint-Pierre was built between 1709 and 1719.

In Kerhaliou, the Chapelle Sainte-Thérèse was built in 1935 using architectural elements from the demolished Sainte Brigitte and Saint Adrien chapels.

Further Aspects

At the Pardon of Notre-Dame-du-Krann in Spézet, which takes place on the Sunday after Pentecost, a huge, intricately carved butter figure is displayed on the chapel’s altar. The Maison Bleue in Spézet also houses a permanent exhibition entitled “Histoires de beurre”.
