Lampaul-Plouarzel: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Lampaul-Plouarzel has a coastline on the Iroise Sea and also borders the Aber Ildut. The municipality consists mainly of dunes and hinterland dunes.

Coast and Landscape

Plage de Pors ar Marc’h is the municipality’s northernmost beach, a wide sandy bay framed by dunes and rocks. Plage de Porsguen is the outer of the two bays bordering Pointe de Beg Ar Vir. Plage du Gouérou is a rocky, completely flat beach and also a surfing spot.

Plage de Pors ar Goret forms a completely unspoilt bay near the hamlet of Porscave and the Aber Ildut.

Paths and Routes

The Circuit des lavoirs follows the GR34 and offers 11 km and 7.5 km variants between land and sea. As a circular route, it leads to 11 municipal washhouses. The Sentier des Naufrageurs is a family-friendly trail that connects a coastal section of the GR34 with a municipal inland path; in Lampaul-Plouarzel, it starts at Place de la Mairie.

The V45 is a coastal cycle route between Lampaul-Plouarzel and Brest, running along greenways and minor roads. The Circuit de Porscav is a 9.4 km hiking trail.

Ports and Culture

The ports of Porspaul and Porscave accommodate pleasure boats year-round, as well as visitors making a stopover. Porscave was formerly a sand port with gabare boats and is now a fishing and leisure port. It has been awarded the designation “Port d’intérêt patrimonial”, meaning a port of special heritage interest.

The “Sardinade” is an event held at the port of Porscave. The Fête de la godille et des vieux gréements takes place in July.
