Locquénolé lies at the mouth of a river flowing into the Bay of Morlaix. The 26 “Petite Boucle Locquénolé” circular route offers views of the river and the Bay of Morlaix.
Culture
A distinctive building is the Maison Kerautem, also known as the Manoir de Lesenor. It was built in 1965–1966 and is considered one of the architect Le Flanchec’s most outstanding works. Since 21 December 2021, it has been classified as a historic monument. Designed as a futuristic manor house, it was created according to the principle of the open floor plan and clearly pays homage to Le Corbusier.
The Church of Saint-Guénolé in Locquénolé rests on Romanesque foundations dating from the 11th century and has carved capitals from the 11th century. The liberty tree was planted during the French Revolution.
Nature
The Chemin des reliques is an easy, approximately 1.5-hour discovery walk through the forest along the paths of former processions in Locquénolé. The Circuit de Mathurine is a 45-minute interpretation trail based on the correspondence of a Parisian visitor who stayed in Locquénolé in 1925.
Local life includes the summer market in Locquénolé: it takes place on Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. from mid-July to mid-August and brings together craftspeople, local producers and creatives; food and entertainment are available on site. In the heart of the village of Locquénolé, the De porc en port restaurant serves sustainable cuisine made with fresh, local products.
