At the Domaine de Menez Meur, four discovery trails cover a total of 16 kilometres of paths. The discovery trail leads to Breton domestic and wild animals, including Breton Black Pied cattle, Ouessant sheep, White Swiss pigs, deer and wolves. At the educational farm, visitors can feed the animals.
Culture and History
The Chapelle Saint-Oyen de Lanvoy was established in the 11th century as a monastic foundation and belonged to Landévennec Abbey. The present building dates from the 16th century. Around the chapel, the old cemetery preserves several graves, a 15th-century calvary and enclosure walls.
The Fontaine et calvaire de Saint-Conval are the only surviving remains of a 15th-century chapel destroyed during the Second World War. They were registered as a monument historique on 2 May 1956.
The present parish church of Saint-Pierre was rebuilt in 1877 in the Neo-Gothic style; the south portal, dated 1625, was preserved. The Moulin de Treoec, also known as Moulin du Bas du Bois du Gars, is mentioned in connection with regional Berlinge cloth production at the end of the 17th century.
The Domaine de Menez Meur also offers an exhibition and various activities on the more than 500-million-year geological history that shaped the landscapes of the Armorican region.
Market in the Town Centre
The Marché de Hanvec is a weekly market held by local producers. It takes place on Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. under the market hall in the town centre and offers organic vegetables, poultry, Thai cuisine and cheese from an artisan cheesemaker.
