Sizun can be explored through its religious heritage, waterscapes and hiking trails. The various facets of the town range from historic sites to nature activities at the Maison de la Rivière.

Culture and History

The Enclos paroissial de Sizun is a well-known part of Sizun’s religious heritage. It was built in the 16th and 18th centuries and, in addition to the Église Saint-Suliau, comprises an ossuary, a sacristy, a funerary chapel and a triumphal gate. The Église Saint-Suliau contains 22 protected movable cultural assets.

The Chapelle Saint-Ildut in Sizun contains a protected altarpiece and six protected candelabras. The Enclos de Saint-Cadou comprises a stone wall, a cemetery, a church, a calvary and a southern porch. The Église Saint-Cadou and its cross have been listed as historic monuments by a decree dated 31 July 2015.

Water and Trails

Lac du Drennec is located within the territories of the municipalities of Sizun and Commana. A footpath approximately 7 kilometres long runs around the lake, which also has two artificially created sandy beaches.

The Circuit de l’Elorn et du lac du Drennec hiking route starts in the centre of Sizun and leads to Lac du Drennec. It follows paths through the forest and along the Elorn River.

Nature by the River

The Maison de la Rivière is located at Moulin de Vergraon, 29450 Sizun. It offers the opportunity to discover the freshwater environment from source to estuary and provides nature walks and educational trails.
