Pont-de-Buis-lès-Quimerch stretches from the Aulne to the edge of the Monts d'Arrée, lies on the edge of the Cranou Forest and in the Armorique Regional Nature Park.

Trails

The Circuit de la Poudre is a 7 km-long, hilly route that takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Via an alternative route on Rue de Quimper, it can be divided into two loops of 4 km each.

The Circuit du Vieux Bourg is a 13 km-long route for walkers and mountain bikers; on foot, it takes approximately three hours. The Circuit de Radio Kimerc'h is also designed for walkers and mountain bikers, is 9 km long and takes approximately two and a half hours on foot.

Nature

The estuary of the Aulne and Douffine provides food resources for amphibians and semiaquatic mammals. Numerous birds feed there and stay there throughout the year.

Culture

The Saint-Pierre parish enclosure consists of a church ruin and an ossuary. The oldest parts of the Saint-Pierre church date from the mid-15th century.

The Sainte-Barbe church was built between 1909 and 1913. Its gargoyles are shaped like cannons and cannonballs, recalling the town's gunpowder production. The Saint-Léger chapel includes a 17th-century fountain and a Kersanton stone cross from the 16th century. The Saint-Onna church is a modest example of 17th-century religious architecture.

Getting There

Pont-de-Buis-lès-Quimerch has daily train connections to and from major French cities via Brest or Quimper. Five regular bus routes serve the area, including route 931 between Brest and Quimper via Le Faou.
