Saint-Hernot: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Circuit du Cap de la Chèvre begins at the Maison des Minéraux in Saint-Hernot. From there, the route passes through restored villages of former fishermen and introduces visitors to the traditional type of dwelling found on the Crozon Peninsula, the “pen ti”.

Culture

The Chapelle Saint-Hernot dates partly from the second half of the 17th century. Its floor plan is in the shape of a Latin cross with very long transept arms.

The former public boys’ school building in Saint-Hernot was converted into the “Maison des minéraux” museum in 1987. The Maison des Minéraux houses Europe’s largest collection of fluorescent minerals.

Nature and Trails

The Maison des Minéraux offers field excursions, including sound-focused, storytelling, hands-on and nature-oriented walks.

The Jardin Insolit(h)e de Bretagne near the Maison des Minéraux comprises 26 geological points of interest from throughout Brittany and is located close to the coastal path Sentier des douaniers.

The GR34 coastal hiking trail runs 1.2 km west and 1.6 km east of Saint-Hernot.

Geographical Location

Near Saint-Hernot are La Mort Anglaise beach, the historic site of Tour Vauban, Trez-Rouz beach, Fort de Lanvéoc as a fortress, the Croix de Penhir monument and Île de l’Aber island.

The Cap de la Chèvre headland is located in the immediate vicinity of Saint-Hernot. Fort du Portzic, a fortress, is located in the wider regional surroundings of Saint-Hernot.
