Le Faou: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Le Faou, the Church of Saint-Sauveur stands at the end of the Ria des Steir Goz. It is a 16th-century church with an exceptional interior dating from the 16th and 19th centuries. It also contains a richly carved 16th-century baptismal font, described as unique in Brittany.

Culture

Notre-Dame de Rumengol features 17th-century altars and an octagonal spire. Pilgrimages to Notre-Dame de Rumengol have been documented since the 12th century. Dendrochronological dating places the construction of the timberwork of the façade and floor of the house on Rue, or at 1 place des Résistants et Fusillés, in the period from 1518 to 1541.

The port of Le Faou has been awarded the designation “Port d’Intérêt patrimonial”.

Getting Around

The “Randonnée urbaine des léopards” is an easy, family-friendly 4 km circular route that takes approximately 1.5 hours. It can be completed on foot, by bicycle, scooter or with a pushchair.

Paotred An Aod preserves the maritime heritage and looks after the traditional sailing ship Aven. Paotred An Aod also organises trips at sea aboard the traditional sailing ship Aven.

The Forêt du Cranou is located in the vicinity of Le Faou and is considered closely linked to the town.

The Saturday market regularly offers bread, eggs, vegetables, cheese, yoghurt, poultry and honey.
