Guiler-Sur-Goyen: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Hiking and Landscape
Two hiking routes of different lengths begin in the centre of Guiler-sur-Goyen: the 4 km Boucle de Stang Vraz loop (“large valley”) and the 9 km Le long de la Rivière Goyen route. The Boucle de Stang Vraz leads through the rural surroundings and forests, as well as into the very unspoilt, wooded heathland on the left-hand slope of the Goyen valley. The car park at Guiler-sur-Goyen Town Hall is available for this hike.
Culture and History
The Church of Saint Justin was rebuilt in 1885 according to plans by the architect Ernest Le Guerrannic and was built in the Neo-Flamboyant style. A stained-glass window with six medallions dates from the 16th century and is listed as a protected movable cultural heritage object.
The Ty Vincent cross in Keroant is tentatively dated to the 15th century and depicts the Crucifixion. At the entrance to the cemetery stands a 16th-century calvary depicting Saint Michael defeating a dragon with a lance. The cross in the cemetery is also tentatively dated to the 15th century.
The Saint Nicholas Fountain was originally dedicated to Saint Justin. Its water was once considered a remedy for whooping cough. The large washhouse next to the Saint Nicholas Fountain was used until the 20th century. During religious ceremonies, the Church of Saint Justin opens its doors to the public.
