Pleuven: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the canton around Pleuven, there are around 250 kilometres of marked hiking trails through landscapes, forests and along the sea.

Nature and Trails

Several easy trails start directly in Pleuven. The 12.4-kilometre hiking trail “Autour de la chapelle Saint-Cadou” takes around three hours. On this circular trail, you can take a small loop along the shore of the Anse de Saint-Cadou while observing the salt marsh landscape and birds.

The easy, 8.4-kilometre hiking trail “La Vallée du Prajou” starts in Pleuven at the town hall and takes two and a half hours. As a marked circular trail, it follows a sunken lane through the Pleuven countryside before continuing to Fouesnant and reaching the Chapelle Sainte-Anne.

The easy, 7.7-kilometre marked circular trail “Autour de Cheffontaines” starts in Pleuven and takes one and a half hours. One of its stops is the Chapelle Saint-Thomas. The grounds of the Château de Cheffontaines are private, but its magnificent avenue can be viewed from the outside along the circular trail.

Culture and History

The Saint-Mathurin parish church was rebuilt in 1876 according to plans by the architect Ernest Le Guerrannic, by the contractor Le Louet from Quimper.

The Chapelle Saint-Thomas was built around 1674 from dressed stone, is dedicated to Saint Thomas Becket, and features carved coats of arms of its founders as well as dragons at its corners. The Chapelle Saint-Tudy was built in the countryside in the 17th century and is associated with a legend about Saint Tudy passing through from Loctudy.

Every year, the two chapels host Pardons, featuring masses, traditional meals and Breton games.

Summer Evenings

Les Jeudis du Parc in Pleuven offers festive evenings every Thursday throughout the summer, with free open-air concerts as well as a food area serving crêpes, grilled food and other local specialities.
