Lopérec: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Lopérec lies between the Monts d’Arrée range to the north and the Châteaulin Basin to the south. At the same time, the town is situated on the edge of the Monts d’Arrée and opens towards the Crozon Peninsula.

Culture and history

In the centre of Lopérec, 19th-century houses stand around the church and the calvary. A walk through the town centre reveals Lopérec’s architecture and history, preserved since the end of the 19th century.

The Chapelle Saint-Guénolé was probably built in the second half of the 16th century for the lords of Penguern. A sacristy was added around 1770, and the choir windows were renovated.

In the forests of Le Nivot lies the Toul an Diaoul cave, the “Devil’s Hole”. Throughout history, it served as a refuge and hiding place: during the Revolution, Chouans took shelter there, and during the war from 1939 to 1945, it served as a refuge for Maquisards.

The Église Saint-Nicolas and the Église Saint-Germain de Pleyben are churches in the vicinity of Lopérec.

Lopérec has a green landscape of bocage and valleys, with traditional houses featuring apotheis.

Mont de Saint-Michel and Roc'h Cléguer are mountains in the vicinity of Lopérec. Karreg an Tan, a summit, is also located nearby.

The Parc Naturel Régional d'Armorique is a regional nature park in the immediate vicinity of Lopérec. Lopérec is part of a listed area and a regional nature park.

Hiking trails

The Henchou Koz circular trail is 12 km long when it starts in the town centre, and 17 km long when it starts at the school in Le Nivot. The communal Yeun Elez hiking trail is 110 km long.
