Pléhédel: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In Pléhédel, the Château de Boisgelin stands at Boisgelin; it was built around 1840 next to an older château. Edmond de Boisgelin continued to use this older château as a service building. The new building has an L-shaped floor plan and a large round neo-Gothic tower at the corner.

Culture and history

Since 14 January 1964, the Château de Boisgelin has been listed as a Historic Monument. The Boisgelin estate also includes a manor house believed to date from the 15th century.

The Église Saint-Pierre de Pléhédel was built in 1839 in the shape of a Latin cross, using pink sandstone. It contains a holy-water font with two basins dating from the 15th century.

The Saint-Michel Chapel was built on a hilltop. It houses an 18th-century oil painting depicting Saint Michael as a youth, as well as a polychrome wooden statue of Saint Michael vanquishing the devil.

The Saint-Samson du Roscoat Chapel is a rectangular chapel dating from the 15th century and was later given a bell gable. It contains old statues of Saint Samson, Notre-Dame de Pitié, Saint Eutropius, Saint Nicholas and Saint Yves dating from the late 15th century.

Active pursuits

The Gilles de Boisgelin golf course offers a 12-hole course that can be combined for rounds of 9 or 18 holes. The facility also has a covered practice area and offers golf lessons.

The Vélomaritime (V4) and its connecting routes run from Pointe de l’Arcouest in the municipality of Ploubazlanec to Boisgelin in the municipality of Pléhédel.

The Circuit de Boisgelin is a 12-kilometre, moderately difficult hiking trail that begins at Place de la Liberté in Pléhédel.
