Saint-Juvat: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The “Chemin de lecture du patrimoine du Bourg” is a 2 km cultural and historical walking route in Saint-Juvat.

Walks

The “Des fleurs et du patrimoine” walk is 11 km long, takes around four hours, and begins at the Place de l’Église in Saint-Juvat. It leads to 17th-century buildings that combine falun limestone with clay construction using the “bauge” technique.

Culture and landscape

The “Terre des Faluns” route is 6.7 km long and runs along country roads, agricultural tracks, and a voie verte. It begins at the gate of the Saint-Juvat cemetery; from there, a greenway leads to the hamlet of Les Grands Champs.

The “Terre des Faluns” route leads to the Maison des Faluns in Tréfumel, where an interactive exhibition presents the heritage that shapes the identity of the Faluns region. It also passes through the hamlet of La Hautière Rousse, with 17th- and 18th-century buildings made of falun stone.

History

The cultivation and processing of flax and hemp brought prosperity to the Pays des Faluns in the 17th and 18th centuries. Tools, symbols, and signs on the façades of the houses recall this history.

The historic sites of Coetquen Tower, St. Louis Gate, Counter Gate, and Penthievre Tower are located near Saint-Juvat.
