The area around the Étang des Ponts-Neufs and the adjoining wetland provides refuge and food for a diverse range of wildlife. This also includes migratory birds that stop to rest in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc.
Nature and trails
The municipality provides route sheets for hiking loops in Coëtmieux and at the Étang des Ponts-Neufs. A trail along the Gouëssant leads to the Étang des Ponts-Neufs.
The “Entre nature, puits et fontaines” circular route is a 16.4-kilometre route in Coëtmieux for hiking and cycling. It is intended to help visitors discover Coëtmieux’s natural and rural heritage.
The VC Evron mountain biking school accepts children aged seven and over; they are supervised by people holding the BF1 or BF2 cycling instructor qualifications.

The Médiathèque-Espace Carouët provides the public with more than 6,000 books and organises a free quarterly reading club open to everyone.
Couleurs d'Automne is presented in Coëtmieux as an annual event. For the 14th edition, a plant market, craftspeople and artists, young talents, humanitarian associations, and various events were announced.
