In Étables-sur-Mer, paths lead through the Ic valley to the Vau Chaperon departmental grounds. The Entre mer et village hiking route is 10 km long, takes 3 hours, and is rated as easy.

Coast and Trails

Plage du Corps de Garde is described as the wildest beach in the municipality and can only be reached on foot via the GR 34. Plage du Moulin is suitable for swimming, beach games, and shell collecting or fishing in the intertidal zone. At the beach, the beach club and leisure centre offer beach volleyball courses as well as courses and rentals for kayaks, windsurf boards, and catamarans.

Plage des Godelins has bathing cabins and a rotunda. The streets next to Plage des Godelins are lined with villas dating from 1900 and lead to Boulevard Oscar Legris, named after the founder of the seaside resort. The coastal path of the municipality of Étables-sur-Mer runs partly along the cliffs from Pors Es-Leu to Pointe de la Rognouze and passes Plage du Moulin and Plage des Godelins. The Plage des Rosaires beach is also located in the vicinity of Étables-sur-Mer.

History and Culture

The Viaduc des Pourrhis is a remnant of the former railway line between Saint-Brieuc and Paimpol. The Porte des Templiers and the Chapelle Sainte-Anne have survived from the old church in Étables-sur-Mer. The Notre-Dame church in the centre of Étables-sur-Mer contains preserved structural elements dating from the 13th century. The Chapelle Notre-Dame-d’Espérance in Étables-sur-Mer was built in 1850 in connection with a vow made by the members of the community during a cholera epidemic.

The Musée d’arts et de traditions populaires near the quays of Binic uses collections and reconstructed historical scenes to present rural and maritime life and its traditions.
