A 14-kilometre section of the GR34 leads from Sables d'Or to Erquy through the Marais de Plurien.

Nature

Near Plurien lies the small island of Îlot Saint-Michel. The Cap d'Erquy and Cap Fréhel headlands are located nearby. Further afield in the region lies the island of Île des Ehbiens.

Activities

Sables d'Or Equitation in Plurien offers horseback rides on the beach and in the countryside. For cycling excursions, Cap Évasion Vélo in Plurien rents out e-bikes, hybrid bikes, mountain bikes, tandems and equipment for children.

Cap Évasion Vélo is located at Camping Les Salines in Plurien-Sables d'Or, on EuroVelo 4 and the greenways, 300 metres from Sables d'Or beach and 50 metres from the mouth of the Islet. Le Spa des Sables in Plurien offers balneotherapy, a mosaic hammam and massage rooms.

Culture and History

The “Sur les traces de Mathurin: du grain au pain” tour offers insights into life around the Islet valley from the beginning of the 20th century to the 1960s. This includes agriculture, mills, the marshland, and the heritage and history of Plurien's village centre, with its church and grain mill.

The current building of the Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Victoire de Léhen dates from 1771. The Romanesque Saint Pierre Church in Plurien was built around the year 1000 on the remains of a Roman temple.

At Atelier Orfeu in Plurien, visitors can discover a world of workshops and galleries featuring painted ceramics, prints such as lithographs and monotypes, pigment photographs, jewellery and paintings.

The historical sites of Bienassis Castle, Prieuré de Saint-Gallery and Abbaye de Saint-Aubin-des-Bois are located near Plurien. Further afield in the region, there is also the historical site of Abbaye de Saint-Jacut.

Local Life

From the last Friday in June to the last Friday in August, Plurien's summer market is expanded in the village centre. Numerous stalls offer food and handicrafts as well as clothing, jewellery and other creations; the traditional Galette-Saucisse is also available.
