Pleubian: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Pleubian is home to the regional nature reserve Réserve naturelle régionale du Sillon de Talbert. Its 3.2-kilometre-long coastal spit is the longest of its kind observable in France and a geomorphological feature of international interest. The protected area covers 205 hectares and is home to 560 inventoried biological species.
Nature and Coast
The Maison du Sillon is a visitor and educational centre for the natural landscape of the Sillon de Talbert. It can be reached directly on foot from the GR 34.
The coastline includes the sandy and pebbly beach of Pors Rand in Pleubian and the rocky beach of Kermagen. There is a play area and a fixed pontoon for jumping into the water. The historic Sémaphore de Creac'h Maoût offers panoramic views of the Jaudy estuary and the Bréhat archipelago.
Culture and History
The Chaire à prêcher in Pleubian dates mainly from the 15th century and is located south of the church within the enclosed parish precinct. A sculpted bas-relief frieze runs along the outside of its parapet; the cornice features a carved foliage frieze.
The parish church of Saint-Georges is an 18th-century building. It was rebuilt and modified several times in the 19th century. It has a Beaumanoir-style bell tower with two side stair towers.
Hiking Trails and Cycling Tours
The Boucle du Sillon de Talbert is an 8.8-kilometre circular hiking trail in Pleubian, marked in yellow. De Brestan à Port Béni is an easy, four-hour circular hike covering 15.0 kilometres and starting in Pleubian. The route passes the Chapelle de Brestan, which dates from the 17th century and has a calvary, an outdoor altar and a fountain.
At Port Béni, rocks approximately 1.5 billion years old are exposed. Mountain bikers can take the Circuit VTT de la Presqu'île, a marked, moderately difficult 33.2-kilometre circular route starting in Pleubian.
Crafts and Flavours
The Celtic Whisky Distillerie is a craft distillery in the municipality of Pleubian in the Côtes-d’Armor département in northern Brittany. Its boutique in Larmor-Pleubian presents the history and values of the distillery; the single malts Kornog and Glann ar Mor can be tasted on site.
