Ploufragan: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Ploufragan showcases its history just as clearly as its landscape: at the roundabout near Zoopole stands the Neolithic menhir “Le Sabot”, while the 20-hectare Vallée du Goëlo green space lies in the town centre.

Culture and history

The “Le Sabot” menhir is listed as a historic monument. Another cultural hub is the Espace Victor Hugo. It houses a media library, a cultural centre, a music school, an exhibition gallery and an event hall. The municipal cultural centre also offers professional performances, exhibitions, conferences and debates.

Megalithic history is also present in Ploufragan. The covered megalithic passage tombs date from approximately 3000 to 2000 BC. The three structures lie along a common axis and are 400 to 500 metres apart.

Nature and trails

A five-kilometre footpath runs through the Vallée du Goëlo. In the area around the Saint-Barthélémy dam, 20 kilometres of hiking trails are available; there is also a mountain-biking trail around the dam.

The Gouët reservoir near Pont-Noir covers 70 hectares and is shaped by the Saint-Barthélémy dam. A footpath leads around the reservoir. The area around the Gouët reservoir is protected up to 300 metres from the banks and is suitable for discovering the local fauna and flora.

Local life and mobility

In summer, various activities are offered under the name “Ploufragan estivale” by local associations, private individuals and municipal services. Ploufragan is connected to the TUB municipal bus network. Saint-Brieuc Agglomération manages transport in the urban area; a bicycle rental service is also mentioned.
