Boqueho: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Boqueho is home to the Notre-Dame-de-Pitié Chapel, a building classified as a Monument historique by decree of 18 May 1946. The chapel contains a seigneurial chapel adjoining it to the north, bearing the date 1486; the ground floor of its bell tower, crowned by a spire, serves as a porch entrance.

Culture and History

In the centre of the village, the Knights of Liscoët founded the Church of Saint-Tugdual, which dates from the 15th to the 19th century. It contains a recumbent effigy of one of the knights. The Knights of Liscoët also founded the Chapel of Saint-Blaise in Boqueho. In 1119, the Templar commandery of Caerguen in La Ville Blanche was an important institution. The La Croix Saint Yves wayside cross was erected by the Lords of Kermedret from the House of Botmillau and decorated with six coats of arms, as well as sculptures of the Crucifixion and the Virgin and Child.

At Audrey Kimmel's studio in Boqueho, ceramics are made mainly from stoneware and porcelain. Her ceramics studio includes an exhibition; visits are possible there year-round by appointment. It also offers courses and workshops.

Paths and Landscapes

The Camino de Santiago from Beauport Abbey in Paimpol passes through Boqueho and continues to be used by pilgrims there. At 284 metres, the Col de Marc’halla is the highest point in Boqueho; a medieval motte is located there. The Neolithic menhirs of Kergoff stand in the Pré Suzon near the Liscoët River.

Boqueho is 7 km from the RN12. The municipal transport service AlloTad serves Boqueho. Boqueho also has an unusual municipal stopover accommodation facility, enabling visitors to take a break there.
