Yvignac-La-Tour: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Yvignac-la-Tour combines protected religious and château heritage with gardens, tranquil landscapes and paths through the surrounding countryside. This character is particularly evident at the Chapelle Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Lannouée, the Château and the Eglise Saint-Malo.

Culture and history

The choir of the Chapelle Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Lannouée has been protected as part of a historic monument by decree since 7 December 1976. The chapel at the Temple de Lannouée preserves Romanesque elevations. At the Château in Yvignac-la-Tour, the tower and the beginning of the enceinte have also been protected as elements of a historic monument by decree dated 9 October 1964.

The interior of the Eglise Saint-Malo preserves five Romanesque bays. Due to the threat of deterioration, the church was dismantled and faithfully rebuilt between 1882 and 1884; it was enlarged and raised in the process. Guided tours of the Eglise Saint-Malo can be arranged by reservation at the town hall, including accompanied access to the top of the 32-metre-high tower.

At the former Templar commandery of La Nouée, a door and a window from the former chapel are set into the façade. These elements were protected as components of a historic monument by decree dated 20 May 1930.

Nature

The Jardin Polypodes comprises a one-hectare, partially shaded landscaped park with water, structures made of stone and iron, and numerous plant species. Curving paths lead visitors through this botanical and sensory garden landscape.

The Étang de Kerneuf is a peaceful, green place where visitors can take a break. Behind the church stands the hollow yew tree known as the “if des records”.

The Circuit des Templiers passes through a landscape where wind turbines, woodland and the countryside meet. Le Grand Chemin provides a special link to Dinan: the costumed walking event created in 1992 connects Yvignac with Dinan at every Fête des Remparts.

In the wider region surrounding Yvignac-la-Tour, Le temple de Mars, Counter Gate, Dinan Castle and Coetquen Tower are each listed as sights classified as historic sites. To the west of Yvignac-la-Tour lies Bel Air, a landscape feature classified as a mountain in the wider surrounding region.
