Lanvellec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Lanvellec can be experienced through its churches and chapels, musical events and distinctive landscape features. Its special character often lies in individual architectural elements, dates and artistic traces.

Culture and Architectural History

The organ by Robert Dallam was classified as a Monument historique for its musical components on 25 March 1971 and for its case on 18 July 1977. It was restored from April 1985 to September 1986.

The Church of Saint-Brandan was rebuilt between 1852 and 1868 according to plans by the master builder Yves Hernot, on the site of older structures from the 14th century and the late 16th century. The church is closed due to construction work, but the parish grounds are accessible.

Chapels and Landscape

The Saint-Connay Chapel, also known as Saint-Gonéry, is a rectangular building; its bell gable with lantern dates largely from the 17th century. In the southern nave, it preserves tracery windows from the 14th century, and a calvary is located nearby.

The small Saint-Goulven Chapel, surrounded by trees, overlooks the Roscoat valley. It has a polychrome high-relief altarpiece depicting the Last Supper; its fountain is dated 1652.

The Saint-Maudez Chapel preserves a rood beam, three decorated portals in the Flamboyant style and unusual gargoyles.

The grounds of the Château de Rosanbo feature a 2.5-kilometre-long riding avenue lined with vaulted hornbeam avenues and bear the EcoJardin label.

Events and Art

Lanvellec is one of the fifteen municipalities of Trégor that jointly organise the Circuit des Chapelles as a cultural discovery event.

The Festival de Lanvellec takes place in October and offers nine or ten varied concerts with different ensembles and programmes. Each year, leading musicologists give between one and three talks at the festival.

Robert Milin's installation was set up on barn doors, walls, a shed, along a path, in a courtyard, on a departmental road and in the grass near a spring.
