Quessoy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Quessoy combines a specific hiking trail with historical traces: The Sur les pas des Hospitaliers hiking trail is 11 km long and takes around 3 hours. Historically, the village of L’Hôpital was home to a commandery of the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem; their presence there has been documented since 1160.

Paths and Nature

The Chemin des Chênes follows the course of streams. At the Arboretum de Carnivet, an arboretum is combined with a diverse mosaic landscape of natural habitats. The oak collection there is accompanied on site by information panels.

Culture and History

The Château de la Houssaye was built around 1750. Its park includes a French garden, a kitchen garden and a former orchard. Two salons in the château feature wood panelling.

The Chapelle de Crézouard is dedicated to Saint Sebastian. The present-day chapel has a rectangular floor plan with a smaller trapezoidal apse.

Geographical Setting

Several different historical and landscape points of reference are located around Quessoy. The Artothèque de Saint-Brieuc is a closed museum, the Chapelle Saint-Gilles is a ruin, and the Hôtel de Rohan is a historical site. Bel Air, a mountain, is also located nearby.

In the wider regional surroundings of Quessoy are the Plage des Rosaires, a beach, the Abbaye de Boquen, a monastery, and the Cap d'Erquy, a cape.
