Saint-Agathon: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Saint-Agathon combines a landscape crossed by the Frout stream with historical evidence, sacred architectural heritage and public cultural venues. Between the mill, walking trails, church, chapel and event hall, a diverse townscape emerges.

Nature and Trails

The Frout stream is fed by numerous springs and fountains and crosses Saint-Agathon over a length of around 10 kilometres. The Moulin de Kermorvan is the last mill in the municipality fed by the Frout. The biefs at the Moulin de Kermorvan now serve as sunken lanes used by hikers. The Circuit du Frout circular trail leads from the Frout valley to the Gallic stelae of Boulbin. These have been classified as historic monuments since 13 January 1958.

History

The neo-Gothic church of Saint-Agathon stands on the ruins of a former monastery. Construction of the church lasted from 1854 to 1857. The Notre-Dame de Malaunay Chapel is dedicated to Saint Apollonia; a pardon is held there every year.

Culture and Information

The La Grande Ourse event hall was inaugurated in October 2014 and is used to host performances. The Saint-Agathon media library makes more than 12,000 documents available to everyone, including books, films and music, as well as digital resources.
