Saint-Briac-Sur-Mer: Apartments and Holiday Homes

At Pointe de la Garde Guérin, Saint-Briac-sur-Mer presents a landscape where natural and historical heritage are closely intertwined. The rocky, peninsula-like headland rises 48 m above the sea and has been designated a protected site since 1932 because of its rich natural and historical heritage. More than 300 plant species are protected there, including sea pink, sea campion, sea carrot, bloody cranesbill, heather, European gorse and broom.

Landscape and Coast

The interpretation trail at Pointe de la Garde Guérin is an immersive experience focusing on history, nature and geography, leading through engraved stones. The coastal trail “Le littoral de Saint-Briac-sur-Mer” follows the GR®34 and runs along former customs paths. It offers views from the mouth of the Frémur to Cap Fréhel. Plage du Tertre Pelé is a cove and is easily accessible via the GR 34. From the church, there is a view of the mouth of the Frémur.

History and Culture

The Notre-Dame de L'Epine Chapel was formerly dedicated to Saint Adam. If the date affixed to the small bell tower is followed, it was built in 1565, rebuilt in 1688 under the name Notre-Dame de L'Epine, and restored again in 1833. The church's older bell tower is classified as a “Monument historique”.

The Croix des Marins is a calvary; the stones around the cross belonged to a group of megaliths. A historical guided tour of Saint-Briac explores the Romanovs' exile in France and the impact of the imperial family's presence on life in Saint-Briac.

Water and Land Activities

Saint-Briac-sur-Mer has the “Pierre en bord de mer” geocaching circuit. The École de Voile Briacine is located at Grande Salinette. During the spring and summer holidays, it offers a children's beach club for children aged three and over.

Saint-Briac-sur-Mer is also the starting point for a 36 km cycling route through the surrounding countryside.
