Plestan: Holiday apartments and houses

Plestan showcases its history at several clearly identifiable sites. The Church of Saint Peter is one of the oldest buildings in the municipality and dates from the 16th century. Plestan also has a railway halt.

Culture and history

The surviving traces of the past include the remains of an old Roman road. The Grand Gardisseul manor house was built around 1500; its spiral staircase is considered exceptional for the period in which it was built. The Manoir du Créhu is a 17th-century manor house that was rebuilt and extended at the end of the 19th century. A cemetery cross stands beside the church; it was registered as a historic monument on 8 January 1964.

The Cimetière des Martyrs in the Bois de Boudan commemorates 31 hostages who were killed there on 13 June 1944. Every year, a memorial ceremony is held at the 31 graves with the municipality’s children and former war veterans.

Water and nature

The Etang d'Hillion in Plestan is a one-hectare pond managed by the AAPPMA de Lamballe. It is classified as a second-category fishing water; a fishing permit is required for angling. Rainbow trout, roach, rudd and tench are found in the Etang d'Hillion.

Products and events

Maison Kerloïck carries out all stages of production on site – from the organic cultivation of the orchards and apple harvesting to processing and marketing. During the school holidays in April, July and August, Maison Kerloïck offers cider-house tours with tastings.

The Cidrerie Dret en Goule offers tours of the cider house on request or on Thursdays in summer. Direct from the farm, it sells organic farmhouse cider, a cider-based aperitif and apple juice.

The events calendar includes a fireworks display organised on 14 August, a gourmet walking tour organised in May and an equestrian trail ride organised in September.
