Plaintel: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Menhir dit du Petit Vauridel in Le Pré, Plaintel, is a Neolithic menhir. Since November 20, 1963, it has been classified as a historic monument.

The area around Plaintel is home to the Artothèque de Saint-Brieuc, a closed museum, the historic Hôtel de Rohan site, and the ruins of the Chapelle Saint-Gilles.

Landscape and nature

In the wider regional surroundings of Plaintel lies Plage des Rosaires, a beach. The ruins of Abbaye Notre-Dame de Coëtmaloën and Bel Air, a mountain, are also located in this wider regional area.

The Gouët has carved its riverbed through the Armorican Massif, a granite massif formed 300 million years ago. The Chaos du Gouët in Plaintel is considered a historic and remarkable site. Several restored mills at the Chaos du Gouët bear witness to former activities in this inhabited valley.

There are 45 washhouses in the municipality of Plaintel. They are home to aquatic insects and amphibians, including smooth newts, alpine newts, natterjack toads, and salamanders; protected species are also found there.
