Treduder: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Tréduder is characterised by a diverse rural landscape: it combines a cultivated plateau, a bocage landscape of hedgerows, coastal valleys and wooded slopes. The triangular fortification remains of Coz-Castel in Tréduder date from the Gallo-Roman period.

Landscape and Nature

To the west of the Tréduder plateau lies the Yar Valley. Its lower valley is narrow in its lower reaches and bordered by steep slopes; it extends approximately four kilometres inland and features remarkable slopes covered with beech trees.

The Roscoat is a river home to salmonids. Its lower valley in Tréduder has remarkable flora and fauna that are still little known across the département; the mammals found there include the protected otter.

The shoreline area of Tréduder at the Lieue de Grève is sandy and muddy and is visited by overwintering birds.

History and Culture

The Church of Saint Theodore in Tréduder dates from the first half of the 16th century as well as the second and third quarters of the 17th century, and preserves architectural elements from the 15th century. Its bell tower was classified as a Monument historique by decree of 19 January 1911; the rest of the church has been listed in the supplementary inventory since 27 June 1989.

The Roscoat Calvary in Tréduder dates from 1533; the Saint-Tuder Fountain was built in 1718.

Between Pont-ar-Yar and Pont-ar-Roscoat, remains of the metre-gauge local railway line from Lannion to Plestin-les-Grèves–Finistère have been preserved in Tréduder. The line ran along the coast for approximately one kilometre.

Every summer, the Circuit des Chapelles enables around twenty chapels or churches to open for visits for one month between mid-July and mid-August.

Things to Do

The “Tréduder et ses ruisseaux” hiking trail is a 9.90-kilometre, moderately difficult walk with an average duration of 3 hours and 25 minutes.

The Saint-Tuder Fountain can be reached via a footpath that branches off Rue de l'Église to the left behind the hamlet of Kerilys.

The Church of Saint Theodore in Tréduder is open as part of the Circuit des Chapelles, the European Heritage Days or by request at the town hall.

The yellow trail markings on the “Tour de Tréduder” circular route are considered faded or missing, particularly in the Roscoat Valley.
