Maël-Pestivien: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Maël-Pestivien reveals its history in specific locations: the Roch-Toul megalithic tomb was classified as a historic monument by decree of 12 August 1969.

Culture and history

The Saint-Isidore Chapel was built between 1730 and 1750 for Yves Auffret. Its complex includes an enclosure, a monumental cross and a devotional spring. During the closure of the parish church, the chapel served as its replacement.

The Church of Saint-Laurent was built before 1520. Its western façade and bell tower were rebuilt in 1875 by the architect Chequer. The church features a sundial bearing the year 1683.

The Chapel of Saint Gildas in Coat Mael was built in the first half of the 16th century. Around 1880, it was rebuilt at its present location.

Trails and landscape

The Circuit de la Chaire des Druides circular trail begins in front of Maël-Pestivien Town Hall. The loop is 12.9 km long, takes three hours, has a moderate difficulty level and is marked in yellow. Some sections may be muddy at certain times of the year.

At the Chaire des Druides de Kerohou, impressive rocks surrounded by trees are associated with a local legend.
