Plénée-Jugon: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In La Gentière in Plénée-Jugon stands the Allée couverte dite La Roche aux Fées, which is protected as a historic monument. The structure is 14.80 metres long and between 1.20 and 1.56 metres wide. It lies on the northern slope of a hill at an altitude of 135 metres and overlooks the surrounding landscape.

Culture and History

The parish church of Plénée-Jugon preserves the north tower of the 15th-century church; the west and south portals from the 15th century were reused. Its floor plan is in the shape of a Latin cross with three naves; the chapel on the ground floor of the tower has a ribbed vault.

The Abbaye de Boquen monastery is located in the vicinity of Plénée-Jugon. It was founded on 15 October 1137 by Olivier II, Count of Dinan, and his wife Agnovie or Agnorée, Countess of Penthièvre. The abbey church dates from the 12th century, is classified as a historic monument, and houses the tomb of Dom Alexis. The abbey has an exhibition on the history of the abbey. Outside religious services, the abbey church can be visited year-round from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The historic site of Hunaudaye Castle, the historic site of Abbaye de Saint-Aubin-des-Bois, and the Église Saint-Malo church are also located in the vicinity of Plénée-Jugon.

Historical Traces

The Menhir de la Pierre Longue near Saint-Mirel is dated to approximately 3500 to 1500 BC.
