Tonquédec: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The ruins of the Château de Tonquédec were classified as a Monument historique in 1862. The Château de Tonquédec is also a preferred access point for exploring the Léguer.

Culture and history

The Collégiale Saint-Pierre was elevated to the status of a collegiate church in 1447 by Eugène IV, the Pope in Avignon. The stained-glass window of the Collégiale Saint-Pierre is classified as a Monument historique. The Chapelle Saint-Gildas houses several remarkable statues as well as murals dating from 1815.

Sightseeing

The Château de Tonquédec is open for visits every day from spring to autumn; groups can visit it year-round by reservation. Visitors receive an annotated plan with their admission ticket, and the visit is self-guided. The Collégiale Saint-Pierre can be visited during the town hall’s opening hours upon presentation of an identity document.

Hiking along the Léguer

The “Hike around the Château” is an easy 7.24 km hike lasting approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. It can begin at the Château de Tonquédec or at the bridge over the Léguer; parking is available at both locations. “Châteaux, woods and chapels in Léguer” is a 10.9 km circular route. The “Châteaux, woods and chapels in Léguer” route follows the wooded banks of the Léguer and is marked in yellow.
